Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, gates co-founded Microsoft with childhood friend Paul Allen in 1975, in Albuquerque, new Mexico;it went on to become the world’s largest personal computer software company. Gates led the company as chairman and CEO until stepping down as CEO in January 2000,but he remained chairman and became chief software architect. During the late 1990s gates had been  criticized for his business tactics, which have been considered anti-competitive. This option has been upheld by announced that he would be transitioning to a part-time role at Microsoft and full-time work at the bill & melinda Gates foundation,  the private charitable foundation that he and his wife, melinda gates, established in 2000. He gradually transferred his duties to Ray ozzie and Craig mandie.  He stepped down as chairman of Microsoft in February 2014 and assumed a new post as  technology advisor to support the newly appointed CEO satya Nadella.

Since 1987,he has been included in the Forbes list of the world’s wealthiest documented individuals. From 1995 to 2017,he held the Forbes titles of the richest person in the world all but four of those years. In October 2017, he was surpassed by Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, who had an estimated net worth of us$90.6 billion compared to Gates net worth of us$89.9 billion at the time. As of November 9, 2019, gates had an estimated net worth of us$107.1 billion, making him the second wealthiest person in the world, behind Bezos.

Later in his career and since leaving day-to-day operations at Microsoft in 2008, gates pursued a  number of philanthropic endeavors.  He donated large amounts of money to various charitable organizations and scientific research programs through the Bill &melinda gates foundation, reported to be the world’s largest private charity. In 2009, gates and Warren Buffett founded. That giving pledge, whereby they and other billionaires pledged to give at least half of their wealth to philanthropy. The foundation works to save lives and improve global health, and is working with rotary international to eliminate polio.

Indian food culture

Indian food is different from rest of the world not only in taste but also in cooking methods. It reflects a perfect blend of various cultures and ages. Just like Indian culture, food in India has also been influenced by various civilizations, which have contributed their share in its overall development and the present form.

Foods of India are better known for its spiciness. Throughout India, be it north India or south India, spices are used generously in food. But one must not forget that every single spice used in Indian dishes Carrie’s some or the nutritional as well as medical properties.

North India food

Food in the north India, to begin with, Kashmir cuisines reflect strong central Asian influences. In Kashmir, mostly all the dishes are prepared around the main course of rice found abundantly in beautiful valley. Another delicious item cooked here is the ‘saag’ that is prepared with green leafy vegetables known as the ‘hak’.

But on the other hand states like the Punjab, haryana and uttar Pradesh show high consumption of chapatis as staple food. Again, these chapatis are prepared with a variety of flours such as wheat, rice, maids, besan etc. Besides chapatis other closely related breads baked in these regions include tandoori, rumaail and naan etc. However in the northern region impact of mughlai food is quite obvious.

West Indian food

In western India, the desert cuisine is famous for its unique taste and varieties of food. Rajasthan and Gujarat are the states that represent the dessert flavor of Indian food. Here an immense variety of deals and achars (pickles/preserves) is used that simply substitute the relative lack of fresh vegetables in these areas.

In states like maharashtra, the food is usually a mix of both north as well as south cooking styles. Here people use both the rice and the wheat with same interest . In Goa, that is further down towards south, one can notice Portuguese influence in the cooking style as well as in the dishes. Some of major dishes of this region are the sweet and sour vindaloo, duckbaffad, sorpotel and eggmolie etc.

East Indian food



In the eastern India, the bengali and assamese styles of cooking are noticeable. The staple food of bengalis is the yummy combination of rice and fish. Usually the bengali love eating varieties of fishes. A special way of preparing the delicacy known as ‘Hilsa’ is by wrapping it in the pumpkin leaf and then cooking it. Another unusual ingredient that is commonly used in Bengali cooking is the ‘bamboo shoot’ . Various sweet prepared in this region, by using milk include the ‘roshogollas’,’sandesh’,’cham-cham’ and many more.

In the south Indian food , the states make great use of spices, fishes and coconuts, as most of them have coastal kitchens. In the food of tamil naidu used tamarind is frequently made in order to impart sourness to the dishes. It simply distinguishes the Tamil food from other cuisines.

The cooking style of Andhra Pradesh is supposed to make excessive use of chillies, which is obviously to improve the taste of the dishes.

In kerala,some of the delicious dishes are thelamp stew and appams,malabar fried prawns,idlies,dosas,fish,Mollie and rice puttu another famous items if these regions is the sweetened coconut milk. Yet another dishes is puttu,which is glutinous rice powder steamed like a pudding in boom shoot.
